Has it REALLY been eleven days since my last post?
I guess it has.
What's been up with me?
School. Tests. An 82 on the American Government and Politics one, and a 76 on the Humans and Other Animals one.
Did I say that I suck at college-level tests?
Well, I do. I have a few things to learn before I get my scores up where they should be.
In the meantime, I get to drop my lowest test grades in both of those classes. Unfortunately, I don't get to do that for Prehistory, and I don't know what my test score was for that one. I hope I did okay. It was a pretty tough test.
Other than that, I've been doing stuff with my Kappa Alpha Thetas. I love them! They are sweet, sweet girls...and I really click with them. I hung out with three other pledges on Friday night, and at first we played piano (yay!) and then we went to Chipotle (actually with some upper classmen too who are totally awesome!) and then went to two of the girls' (sophomores) apartment and watched Ever After. It was SO fun! I LOVE my girls!
On Saturday night, I went on a guy hunt with my suite-mate buddies and other people in my hall. We walked for two and a half hours trying to find this one party, but never got there. Finally, someone came to pick us up. We got there, and there were a bunch of upper classmen--and us. I talked to several guys...there was one I particularly clicked with since we were both nerds at heart. We talked about quantum physics (at first he tried to impress me with his knowledge of it and it turned out I knew a couple things about it that he didn't) and then brain transplants. Haha. Turns out he doesn't go here, and that he's an hour and a half drive away. But we exchanged numbers anyway, and hopefully he'll call me when he comes up to see his friend again and we can hang out.
Anyway, no romantic interests. Yickers. Oh well. It'll happen in time. My main focus right now should be figuring out these stupid tests. By the way, I have one tomorrow, in Cultural Anthropology. Wish me luck!
Sunday, I went on my Challenge Course reunion with my First-tracks buddies. It was SOOOO fun! But guess what? I'm retarded. I climbed up the power-pole, confident as ever, and was standing right on the top...till I saw...OMG...guess what?!
A BEE!!!!
OMG...A BEE! AHHHHH! So I stood on the top of that pole and trembled until the pole was shaking so violently, it probably looked like it was going to snap. Of course, for those who aren't aware of challenge course procedures, I had a harness on and someone holding a rope connected to that harness so there was no way I was going to fall...but it was just funny that my greatest fear was the freaking bee when I was over a hundred feet from the ground standing on a narrow pole.
It reminds me of that quote: "It's not the mountain that towers ahead that wears you down; it's the grain in your shoe."
I forget who says that, but I love that quote!
Anyway, tons of fun!
Oh, and the swings! WOOT WOOT! They were HUGE! Bigger than my house! Well, I don't know EXACTLY how big they were--but huge! You connect these humongous cables to your harness, and then they let you go...and...WOOOOSH! YEEHAW! (I'm NOT a hick, I swear!) and...whoa...you've never experienced anything like it in your life. Yay!
Okay, I should probably stop typing cuz my roomie's trying to sleep. Peace to y'all!
